Most of Silkie’s stuff is put out on Deep Medi though isn’t it? Bit of a difference in traction there. And it seems toasty’s stuff is mostly reissues/unreleased old stuff?

Ye, not hatin’, but there’s a significant difference in traffic towards that BC page in comparison, is what I mean. Silkie’s 3x vinyl newly produced Panorama album was pretty hype (even though it was released a while ago) and prolly brought a lot of people to his BC, where they can find the old dubs too.
Tbh I’m actually surprised at that Silkie’s account numbers too. I just would have expected way more people.
No, so I was talking about Silkie’s other account, which has been renamed to Antisocial Records, where he put up Brazil, Gypsy, Sly, Disrespect, Brighter, M Boog, Maybe Baby, Bluesy etc. And I didn’t see some of the usual suspects on Toasty’s, so I figured some people here may have missed them. I just expected Toasty to have a bit more supporters is all.

tbh another factor could be that silkie has broader appeal, i def know peeps who vibe to silkie’s stuff because it has this jazzy/funky flavour to it that you don’t really need to be a dubstarp nerd to enjoy, toasty’s stuff is more niche imo

Yeah I don’t disagree that Silkie would have more people of course, but I know a lot of people rate Toasty’s work.
But has he made anything new lately? I’m not super well-versed with either his older stuff or his presence nowadays, but if his latest BC release is stuff he put out in 2004, it’s not very weird he’s not on people’s radar today, right? People has already heard it, +20 years ago.
He’s made some dope stuff for sure, but I hope you can see my angle here.
Also, people just buy what they like ofc. It’s not like I’ll indiscriminately buy every dub from everyone that puts them out.
Yeah, I’m not disagreeing with any of this, I just expected a bit more supporters.

Yeah I actually went through quite a few releases earlier, lots of good stuff. So thanks for the tip @epiccentipede6942 . Haven’t bought any of the tunes yet though, but might drop a few coins on him next week.
