Going 100% legit with production software

I feel like, if you can’t afford the software I think it’s OK if you get it pirated. If you’re some poor kid in who can’t shell out $200 + for a DAW and $$$ for plugins, do what you have to do.

The whole economic system is bullshit anyways. Disadvantaged groups are being excluded from opportunities to make money, but should still be able to express themselves in music. A lot of wealth is inherited, but it doesn’t mean those with money should be the only ones who get the tools for music creation.

That being said, when you do have the money and you can afford it and you are serious about it, why not support the programmers and companies making stuff? They should get paid for their efforts. Just like musicians should get paid too.

The companies support the programmers by using us. So programmers can fuck off too, in the very short duration that they wouldn’t be in the same sits as us as producers.

The companies are not necessarily interested in what programmers want to do or are even interested in what you want to do with their products aslong as you buy them.
They rarely seem into or about actual music. Say buy our techno/trap samples. Like who wants to combine those two scenes?. It’s cool like dad wearing a 5 panel but probably effective as a sell if we’re not critical.

It’s a scam. Like how all presets don’t work in a mix. They are all made to sound impressive on their own for when you’re in the shop testing the one against the other. There’s no honesty related to the production, there’s only the exaggerated, marketable angle available unless you tinker or fuck around.

It’s all Ed Hardy shirts in that respect. Save a select few not worth mentioning for size comparatively.

And all the progress, technically, or like 99% -happens when the gear or software is misused.
So they absolutely depend on us -still.

It’s a disservice for technically safe (sound) production to throw a shit reverb in the midst of the chain fx.
It’s unprofessional soundwise. But we have to pay for it like if a car had a seethru exhaust pipe or a big dumb inflatable cock on the front.

yeah legal all the way. have to give the respect and support all the people making these tools for us.

WHAT

respect now aswell?

There are some money oriented companies but there are some companies who care very much for their customers (Thats why i love Tracktion Software Corporation.)

sure but there’s no way to know and they are very few

not enough to not call it all a complete farce and or cashgrab

A lot of audio companies actually do a lot for the music community, even the larger ones.

And the engineers working at said companies are often times musicians themselves. You make it sound like the programmers are just artless nerds lol, its quite the opposite 95% of the time… they arent programming Excel 2017, they are making expressive instruments that you dont have to be a nerd to use yourself.

you are talking about it abstractly too

there is no genuine music community either imo
