He ain’t bad for the high level stuff tbh.
all I know about music theory I learned from Adam Smith (I pay artists on fiverr to write all my melodies via the invisible hand of the free market)
I haven’t learned any music theory I just get chatGPT to write my tunes.
12 days to go til deadline
Really hoping for some decent participation on this one!
@hubb you seen this may8? 'AVE A GO!
I’ve got a loop and am gone on work all week so I’ll probably have to hastily make an arrangement
cheers for the shout Finn
I’m too busy finishing this other stuff. Will post that when done.
Mental busy lately and it’s gonna get worse until deadline, so my usual 16 bar loop probably isn’t going to get any longer lol, can we push deadline to Q4?
Extendo might be possible for a week.
I’ve been trying to get my non dsf nonce music friends to have a go at it
That’d be cool tbh, been deep in real life fuckery from several directions the last month, as has been mentioned in other threads.
Just been browsing through the samples, haven’t started on anything yet.
I hate my tune now. Sounds muddy and I can’t get any sort of structure.

Good structure and sound source choices:
Very little to do mix-wise if done correctly, thus less mud.
In my general experience.
@hubb might agree on this. “Very little to do” as in less processing.
Lol I can’t tell if you’re insulting the sample pack that sleeps put together for this or not
Haven’t looked into it much yet, as stated above. It still holds true though. Structure is everything.
If I want to un-muddy the track, I should remove some samples - while technically would work, would also make the tune sound comepltely different. Which kinda defeats the point of me making it.
b2b it could just be ear fatigue and I’ve actually mixed it perfectly ![]()
there’s a fine line between stuff sounding muddy and stuff sounding full. For me I think it’s better let there be a little mud than risk the mix sounding too thin
Un-muddying can be done by re-arranging the samples too, like space them out, not let too many things hit at the same time etc. Structure innit?
Not saying I can do this better than anyone else btw, but focusing on the actual compositional structure and arranging is “the thing”.
gonna read this whole thing later
good luck with ye tunes boys
5 days until deadline bois
