Production Thoughts

dont trust your feelings imo

if you invested some of your best feelings in the tunes last night
then you might not have enough good feelings left that you would need to judge the tuneproduct the next day

same as xtc
you spent all your <3s last night so you have to bonk your head on one of those coin boxes, then sometimes its a flower that makes you capable of shooting fire or it might be a mushroom that makes you into BIGLUIGI - but until then you are lilluigi and shouldnt judge but just jump on some duckturtles till you get to one of the waterworlds

theres a difference between stress and anxiety

the feeling that relates to stress can make you feel anxious
and anxiety can make you feel ‘‘stressed’’

but stress is a surplus of XP that builds up and ‘rots’ if you dont get to spend your XP properly

so if you want to releave stress you should actually try to make some more tuna

often people think stress is having too much to do
but its the condition that you didnt get to spend your XP that then clutters your mind

and that causes anxiety
thats why stress is so fucky

I usually do a batch of tracks and then don’t listen to them at all for weeks/months (sometimes years)

the time lapse helps with listening to them objectively when I eventually work on them again

This looks cool but I dont have 120 quid.

Oh “the talk” been there many a time mate, Fame n fortune or Creative expression or somewhere in between, it’s difficult to navigate. That’s why I made the decision to give most of my music/digitals away a good while ago, I’m happy for things to just be a creative expression and if anything comes more after that then it’s a blessing

^ ^ ^ agreed

Yess I think this is perhaps the best mindset to have if one want to stick with whatever creative thing you’re doing in the long run.

Your right bro

so many good mixes are just putting the bass and kick in diff places
and making sure the snares lil tone, punches thru the other noise

cymbals are fucky as hell tho

Can’t beat an 808 cymbal done right !

100% the best mixes are arranged well to begin with. hard to get around it if they aren’t

i mean it looks cool, but it’s a glorified fader lol

+blending of spectral content / harmonic overtones of each source (if im correct?)

edit:
Fuk me tryna figure out what the pack with old “g samples” was called. Like, a bunch of samples from super underground 90s hardcore/lofi gangsta rap tunes with gritty production value.

i’ve got a pack of dodgy memphis acapellas

just sayin

That’s it!! Includes among others the sample used in this track:

Right?

tlim shug, fuck me

but yeah, sounds like something that could be sampled from that stuff, i’m not overly familiar with it tho harkat or sam are probably more at home with that

It’s a bit more than a fader.
Like Pokus said - it blends the content of the two sources together so they both affect/change each other, rather than simply quietening one as it loudernises the other.

Also would be v interested in those memphis acapellas

PM pls, I need fresh vox samples rn
