I’m afraid I can’t do that. I’m sorry.
@Kronos_Official it’s really nothing special, it’s literally the same as Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, but with Vengeance samples instead of the vocal samples.
I just wanted to study skrillex’s mixing and mastering
I promise his production is the same on both. It’s literally the same file, with the differences I mentioned. You would get the same out of studying Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.
Ok, so how do I study his mastering though?
highly doubt he masters his own tunes…also IMO there isnt really a way to study mastering by listening to songs. Youd have to sit in with an experienced ME and learn, then train your ear.
Im not saying people cant learn to prep their tracks for release in their bedrooms, but ot wont be the same as hiring a proper ME. Also, I still prefer to get a friend I trust to do it for free even if they arent an ME. A second pair of ears is essential IMO.
You should study YOUR sounds. You will never ever get the exact sounds and tunes like him. Simply because you will never know how he designed the sound, what plugin he used, the post processing and so on. Just start out putting together simple drum loops. Try to polish them a little bit so you get a bit of knowledge on eqing and what not. After that try simple melodies in your head ( no complex Sound designing at this moment) and put them together. Just make silly stuff and have fun. Everything you need to know you will learn in the process of making YOUR music. Everybody runs into other problems just like everybody’s got different knowledge.
Btw: Vengeance is a good source for people that don’t know where to get a couple of proper drum samples.
Only way you could somehow study his mastering would be if Skrillex would send you the unmastered version of SMANS and you would load that into your daw and compare that to the released (mastered) version. SMANS is not even that well mixed/mastered compared to some of his newer tracks/some other artists so what’s the point anyway?
I’d rather love to know how Noisia is doing their stuff 100 times before finding out how Skrillex does his.
I like how everyone has given this guy great information about how to become a better producer and how to find your own sound, and all he cares about is some dumb demo tune I have from some “artist”. Frankly I’m a little annoyed.
I just want to know how he masters his tracks. I am trying to learn, I already know sound design, compression, eq, delay, and mixing, but what I’m having trouble with most is mastering, getting good drums, and making melodies.
If you have specific questions there’s a how to sound like thread and i’m a huge neuro nerd that have tried to study their way of doing things - but more so their stuff from a couple of years ago
Id be happy to help
I already know sound design, compression, eq, delay, and mixing
if so…
getting good drums
…this shouldn’t be a problem
vengeance sucks for drums because EVERYONE uses them, I found way better free samples on the internet, only thing vengeance is ok for is SFX but you could make those too…
lol where u foudn em? FYI I found my vengenace samples from intrnet also
I find samples randomly lurking the internet, got mad gems, keep them all in one folder

You remind me of a kid my friend told me about from a Recording class he took.
