FREE STUFF (ᴘʟᴜɢ-ɪɴs, sᴀᴍᴘʟᴇs, ᴇᴛᴄ.)

200th post yay!

Anyways is 50 Serum presets enough to count as a mega pack? Or should I go for 100?

Would like some feedback…

This app used to be subscription only but they added some free servers: allows you to stream live & DJ sets with a shareable link.

This is a pretty big giveaway for very little effort. Follow some accounts and tag some producers.
If anyone gets a random @ from me on instagram, this will be why…

If you guys subscribed to Cymatic they sent out an interesting sample pack…

Cymatics have a shit ton of sample packs for free.
Gotta sign up to their newsletter/website etc but it’s worth it tbf.
That toy one is bait - my IG feed is relentless with posts from Cymatics posting tunes people have made with that pack.
They all sound the same. 808s and trap melodies.

I’m not sure if any of these are already up on here, but here are some of the free plug-ins I use.

https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/IVGI/IVGI.php - Saturation / Distortion that is useful on all tracks when used subtly.
http://www.airwindows.com/category/audio-unit/ - Shit loads of free/useful plug-ins and so easy to use.

Buy any copy of Computer Music Magazine and you get their back catalogue of free plug-ins. They make them in collab with the newest & best plug-in companies, you can only get them with the magazine. Decent mag too.

https://valhalladsp.com/shop/delay/valhalla-freq-echo/ - Perfect for dub, Dr Who and all of your psychedelic needs (taken from the website review but its so true)

https://www.wavesfactory.com/free-kontakt-instruments/ - Some free Kontakt instruments

I hope a few of you get something from the post that’s useful. Big up!

Dammit beaten to it.
I had this idea for a virtual synth app that could save midi or wav files, which could then be imported to a desktop DAW. I was gonna call it Earworm, so if you were out and about and had a good idea for a melody you could quickly get it down before you forgot it.

There are actually a few that do this already. What’s been a big game changer recently is Ableton Link support in a lot of iOS apps (so that process you describe is even more seamless. It imports everything into an Ableton project file, midi and wavs included.)

Too bad Apple don’t give a fuck about musicians like they used to. At least there are still some good devs making good apps (ReSlice, ElasticDrums, FieldScaper, etc.)

(Technically not really free since you’ll likely have to pay to move it but… yeah.)

man, that site is an awesome idea

i’ve been slowly learning how to play the keys better over the past year or so but all I have is my microkorg’s keyboard lol, really want something more proper, a real piano would be so amazing to have, but i can’t even fit a digital piano in here at the mo :frowning:
