This is kind of dumb, but does anyone have any tips on turning a loop into an actual song? Lol. I feel like this is where I always get stuck.

Focus on adapting a couple bits like the druns and stuff from the loop into a different, alternate section of the same length and just start with that. Then once you have 2 distinct sections try making an intro just by stripping some stuff away from the first or 2nd section . Then you can basically duplicate the whole thing and just make some changes to the second half and you have most of a song

Maybe sounds overly simple but I find if you just break it into specific chunks like “theres gonna be a second sectoon for the next 16 bars here” and focus on only that part it helps with keeping moving forward

@MARSEN nailed it.

I used to put markers in my DAW like so:
8 bars - intro
16 bars - 1st verse
8 bars - middle section
4 bars - pre verse
16 bars - 2nd verse
8 bars - outro

Once you have the loop, stick it in 1st verse section.
Strip it right back for intro & build into the 1st verse
Strip it right back for the outro, take out elements the close to the end you get
Duplicate 1st verse for 2nd verse section, and add something not in 1st verse
Pre verse is your build to the 2nd drop
And the middle section - perhaps use elements from the intro + the extra something from the 2nd verse

I mean thats the very basic but that’s how I started.
