dark one
One of my favs.
Also one of my favs. Have that on vinyl along with that Nordstadt Union one.
As a self taught dj I never had any elders show me the ropes so naturally I spin my UKG, 2-step & Funky at what I feel is the ideal choice of bpm, 135.
My question for the Djās here is what tempo do you spin at?
Vigorously learn the BPMs of tracks and proceed to clang them anyways
This club I used to DJ at, I had long extended sets. I would start out the night at Hip-Hop / Downtempo tempos, say ~85-90 BPM and then slowly work my up to 130s through a long continuous mix.
Am I wrong in selecting tune and matching them at 135 or would 130 be better?
@DJoe mind weighing in?
Do whatever sounds good.
I donāt really recommend spinning whole sets locked at the same bpm tho. Kind of odd and boring to do imo
someone finally uploaded this versionā¦
EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/user/pablo83fm/videos whole bunch of tracks worth perusing on here
Proper dark garage. There isnāt enough coverage for less known dark garage/proto dubstep outside of El-B/Zed Bias/etc.
Agreed. Thereās so much sick stuff out there if you dig deep enough
Play it at 2x and you have yourself a dnb track
So weird how if you see āArtful Dodgerā on a lineup these days itāll be some dude who had nothing to do with making the tunes.
Thatās pretty hilarious

TBH depends on the tune and my mood. A lot of the darker garage stuff I think sounds good slowed down. While 4x4 I usually speed up a bit.
Also depends what else Im mixing. If im speeding up to garage from house will be more likely to be playing around 130 but if Im mixing dubstep and grime then 135 upwards
