What are the very basics of what I need to play vinyl for home listening? I’m completely new to it as I usually listen through headphones because neighbours Obviously I need a record player and speakers, but i have no idea of whats good quality or not in terms of subs, speakers, actual player etc
record player: audio technica lp120
cheapest and easiest way after is to try to find a 2nd hand receiver (onkyo makes some good cheap ones)
then you’ll want some passive speakers to hook up to the receiver, yamaha makes a really decent pair of 3 ways that are great for the price

those have pretty decent bass response in a smallish room, so you prob wont need a sub right away. I do recommend replacing the stock needle/cartridge on the LP120 with a Shure cart or an Ortofon cart if you have enough $.
Just do yourself a favor and don’t buy the Monoprice DJ mixer. $50 looks like a decent price but I have one and occasionally I get a buzzing that forces me to occasionally turn off my TTs. Really stupid, probably cheap af Chinese electronics.
No need for a mixer if just listening
Dank dubs
Dunk dabs
Ahh misread the thread lol. Carry on…
