i’d skip the 900 nxs tbh, get 2000nxs if you can/want
No need. The 900 does everything I want, I just would rather it all matched.
Manchester pal
SO sick
your probs gonna scratch them out the window if you really scratch on them
#turntableism
Sunsheiiiiiiiieeeiiinne!
Set up looks ace ! Not a day goes by where I don’t regret selling my 1210s
Niiice. How is the MasterSounds mixer? Was gonna get the linear fader version of the 4V but when I went to buy it they had literally just discontinued it so went for the Formula Sound instead which I am extremely happy with
It’s great. It really is. A lot of people prefer Condesa, ARS, etc, and whilst I can only vouch for DJn on an ARS, I find it the mixer has been designed to actually played on. It’s worth noting a lot of rotary mixers don’t have gains and you’re not really supposed to push the volume above 7, where as Mastersounds have included a gain, so you can slam a tune in and then tweak after.
People complain about the ISO layout not being horizontal but I’m not a disco DJ and I use it to occassionally accentuate and from what I gather that’s what its purpose was for, to shape sound.
The EQs are really smooth but what’s most impressive is it’s summing ability. You can have 2 tracks in the mix and the basslines wont get overcrowded which most mixers can’t handle.
I had no idea they discontinued the fader version. It was my intention to actually get that but I got invited down to the Mastersounds HQ and played around on their toys and decided to bite the bullet and go rotary.
The FF4.2 is a fab mixer. My friend used to have one and I always enioyed playing on it (he actuallt sold his and bought the 4V once he played on mine). They really come to life on a big soundsystem.
Daft punk, champagne and a cheese board? Is this ur kitchen @Dubstep_Warrior ?
No they have a recycling bin
And you guys were getting worried about drinks near gear in some of my pics?? Anything there tips over, and that setup is SOAKED.
Beer spillage a gwan.
honestly as much as their later output is b8 that daft punk album is gangsta and i am not ashamed at all about owning it
Got a soft sport for that french filter house style. Really wish Roulé releases were on digital
aside from all the housey hits that got played on radio back then, that album also has some serious techno bangers
i dont think anyone ever used the adjective “gully” to refer to daft punk but i will now
gully
That’s sick man, they really do look like loads of fun to mix with. Hopefully can get my hands on one at some point to play with. Out of curiosity what kind of music do you play and how have you found the transition to rotary? Was quite tempted to pick up the rotary after they had discontinued the linear one but decided against it in the end as I like to chop things up especially when I get the old grime vinyl out.
Was pretty annoying though, was in the process of saving for one and over the course of around 6 months they put the prices up by about £400 and then when I was about to pull the trigger in Feb, they were gone from the website. When asked they said it’s due to difficulty in sourcing parts which seems odd.
Extremely happy I went with the Formula Sound in the end. Got an incredible deal on one that was basically new. The thing sounds absolutely unreal on my home system. The highs sound so much more crisp and the music feels like it has so much more depth in general. Really goes to show how much of a piece of shit my old pioneer mixer sounded. Would love to try it on a bigger system one day.
The separate high pass and low pass filter on each channel is a game changer. Really let’s you mix with surgical precision and carve out individual sounds when used in conjunction with the EQ. The improvements in sound quality means I am much more deliberate in my mixing and actually listening to what I’m doing compared to just going through the motions like with my old mixer.
Only things I dislike about it are the gains are really sensitive, you have to use a really light touch when adjusting them which can make matching levels a bit tricky. Also the headphone output is stupidly loud. Anything over 9 o’clock on the headphone knob with hd25s will blow out your eardrums (dunno why they designed it this way).
Thinking of adding in a MasterSounds FX unit at some point as they look like a lot of fun
Lmao “prosecco” brand
