I can’t believe Mala actually released Jah Power Dub. Some tunes are sacred, you know? That was one of those legendary, mythical dubplates that defined the exclusivity of the scene. It wasn’t just a track—it was a moment in time, something you could only experience if you were there in the right place, with the right system, feeling the weight of it live. Now? Every bedroom DJ and their nan is going to rinse it on dodgy sound systems, and it’s going to lose all that mystique. What’s the point of calling it “dubplate culture” if you’re just going to hand out the crown jewels? It’s a slap in the face to those of us who cherish the history and depth of dubstep. Some tunes aren’t meant to be shared with the masses. It’s not just about the music—it’s about preserving the culture. This feels like a sellout move, plain and simple.

At least it’s not limited to 300 copies. But yeah being an unnamed B-side on a white label repress of changes doesn’t really have tbf fanfare you’d expect for a tune like this

Still hoping not every B-side from this release is Jah Power Dub - might be shocking to some but it’s far from being one of my favorite Mala dubs.
Now if some copies have Tombstone or Drunken Swagger on the flip, I might have to reconsider my stance on this 
Yeah, at least Mala put a re-up on Bandcamp for this and at least it’s MEDI100, whereas Loefah - Woman/Midnight 300 copies on Berceuse Heroique was pretty random for a release like that.
I’m perfectly fine if this one happens to be Jah Power Dub only tbh. It was probably the most popular Mala dub out there, we’ve all heard it a million times and it’s long overdue. Hopefully he releases those other ones, that we may personally love as much or more, like Tombstone, in the future. Bad Spirits On Shoulders is another one I’d love to see.
