is there really a thing called that lol
Beatstep pro?
Sweetwater in the US has them in stock although it seems ridiculous to do international shipping especially when Arturia is based in France.
I would like to pick up a Beatstep Pro soon as well.
Annoyingly, one of the stores I went in today had them in stock on their website, but the guy said that was their warehouse not the actual shop.
Will order online and col, plectrum next week, means I’ll probably get a Minitaur as well that I’ve been eyeing up from the same people.s
Minitaur plus Beatstep Pro would be awesome!!
we need a thread for all the hardware tnucs to show off their tunes…
i just mean it sounds like - a generic genre machine on the surface
(looked pretty cool when i googled it)
Yeah, I’m not really into the name tbh. But as a tool, it something that I have been looking for for awhile.
I am into this. The options these days are plentiful. I personally am glad for the analogue revival. This is another product that would just push me further and further down the rabbit hole of modular synthesizers.
WANT!!!
I was convinced until I found out the asking price is around 1k euros…somehow seems a tad much. I’d rather sacrifice the FX for something with more wavetable modulation/tweaking options. User waves etc.
Its cool, no doubt. It sounds good to me. The formant filter is a great feature. The envelope stuff is cool. Just can’t help feeling I’d be over paying (especially at only 8 voices).
On the other hand its a boutique synthesizer, its pretty damn cool. It might have more under the hood than new Nord Leads. But my less than 400 USD UltraNova gets me most of the way to this synth.
Yeah the price is a little crazy. Even if I did have the money I don’t think I could every justify spending that much on it.
That aside the thing is awesome. Its nice that someone finally designed a hardware synth to cater to the new school of sound design. Its probably one of the most powerful synths on the market ATM.
I really hope the formate filter catches on and becomes a standard for every synth. It might be alot to ask for out of a hardware synth but not a VST.
I think when it hits my local music store I’m going to go down… play around with it for a hour… buy a £1 jack converter then leave
What in particular is catering to the “new school” of sound design? Besides the the formant filter and EG nothing is particularly unusual. As I said the Novation UltraNova has many of the same features…though the NF-1 probably sounds somewhat nicer.
Id like to see a knobby granular synth/sampler even if it was somewhat limited or something that had more intense wavetable capabilities.
The possibilitys with the oscillators. Thats what’s stopping you from making, say, electro house, with most hardware synths.
All the the shapes and the PWM options for them? Because lots of hardware synths have those kinds of options. That kind of waveshapping isnt unheard of at all. Unless I missed something.
The analog craze over the last decade, I think, has really overshadowed a lot of great 90s digital synths.
I dont know much about them, but I cant imagine a something like a Virus TI 2 wouldnt get you there as far as twisted mid range electro stuff.
help someone pls talk me out of blowing 500+ on a space echo
OK.
Those things require loads of maintenance. It will cost you twice that just to keep it going.
Although busted SE’s have been known to make interesting sounds too…

What Mks said…Honestly…demo Uhe Satin…a Boss RE20 or Strymon El Capistan before go down that road…
