Meh, the point of these is that you build them yourself imo.
I wouldn’t know where to start lol, I also don’t thinking buying it is worth it for the occasional times I’d use BUT it sounded good in that video so imma lusting
All fair points. I’ve played a lot of reggae and dub reggae at clubs, something like this is actually useful (along with a mic). Most soundsystem folks like to build their own gear though, kinda part of the thing. Hence my comment.
Seeing an E-mu Proteus for sale, €200… That cheese…
I’ve kinda wanted an ‘everything’ module like that for a while, would be cool to pick up something with a shitload of sounds in it
The entire System Coupe.
Supposed to be saving for a car as my driving band up in just over a day but I seen the fader fox pc4 and seen what it does paired with the syntakt
I’m currently learning to sidechain from the digitakt to the digitone but want hands on control over loads of syn parameters
I’d have all of the benidub stuff if i had the money, all their stuff looks great
Faderfox makes good stuff.
The benidub stuff seems way more simple than Eurorack. Being completely transparent, simple is better.
new Ableton Push 3 has a standalone model with audio interface & upgradable hard rives and ram…
Using the elektrons midi channels to side chain a slew of parameters each with enclosing multiple folders each with their parameters channels- 8per folder; per channel (8 channels) with each parameter being able to be side chained to any particular 16th note on the pattern over 4 bars, 64 when you consider you can value set a trig (a note) to only repeat -up to : once every 8 bars
Meaning the insane amount of automation and modulation I can get out of these insanely good sounding boxes when midi connected to each other is fab fkin tastic
You can map the MIDI to anything, other external gear too. If you know the CC values.
Yeh, on the elektron it’s marked where it’s getting sent to, in a folder of parameters
And each midi track (of the 8 per track) has an lfo that you can sidechain to the marked names it’s getting sent to
Might have to rewrite that lol
So that’s another 70, cos there’s 70 diff places it can be sent like main vol, cog wheel etc
You can record and loop your own automation for like filter movement (or literally anything that has a CC). Can get pretty creative with that I recon.
Yeh from anything filter, resonance, any synth parameters could be sidechained to one exact 16th note, or 32nd note if you considered doing it twice the speed but in a halftime, maybe quadruple in qtr time(64ths) if you don’t go above a 75 Bpm track cos I think the speed limits 300 bpm on the boxes
Or if you done a 37.5 bmp in track in wtf the term is for 8times, octosomething, you could reasonably effect insane amount of parameters on a 128th note, and maybe speed it up in ableton after once recordered I dunno
Per-step editing is the shizzle, like in trackers.
The 16 channel (8th MIDI) on the digi is used for changing the bank/pattern
Which means in real time I can pull any of the 60 or so patterns in the project up with the digitakt pattern in real time
Only prob is that they’re all mastered through the heat with those loops in mind, so bits might sound a bit flat, but thousands of combinations to try I’ll find some gems
Just make all the loops sound good through the Heat. Make more loops.
