Yeah, mental. The 1608 can easily go for £40k as well.
yeah that console is seriously gorgeous
ooooOOOOooooo…
Was going to say… the lathe is probably not even a third of the price of that console.
Neve wasn’t good enough, he wanted the real deal
going full zimmer
Holy shit, that def has my interest piqued. That looks ridiculously powerful albeit a bit cumbersome.
Been wanting otb chorus and saturation…could the Strymon Deco be a good solution to both? I have the OTO Biscuit for distortion/grit and a Lexicon MX200 for bread and butter chorus and flange.
I REAAAAALLLY want the saturation on the deco but cant justify dropping that kind of skrill for that alone
Any users lucky enough to own a fender rhodes?
Probably been my favorite instrument for around a year or two now so hopefully I can keep up playing the keyboard enough to justify owning one in the near future.
My other thought is blowing 1K plus on a pair of Warm Audio Tone Beast pre amps over the next 12 months…so the Deco is sounding more and more appealing…though I will probably end up buying a Tone Beast at some point anyway lol…
@Harry_Griffiths I don’t own a Rhodes, but love the sound. NI Scaribee Keys (or w/e its called) is close enough for me. That plus a really nice MIDI keyboard will probably get you 90% of the way there ;p
As I said before, the Deco is a great bit of kit. I love the chorus and flanging fx it can do, especially if you have vanilla versions covered with another rack.
We had a Rhodes in our studio for a while. They sound amazing but the upkeep on them is a huge pain in the ass. If you decide to get one, save some cash up and get a real nice minty one, otherwise you will probably wind up spending the money anyway getting it in proper working order. Tuning can be a real problem on some units and the only way to adjust tuning is to either file off some material from the tong or solder some material on depending on if you are sharp or flat. Plus they are heavy AF. In my opinion the 15% difference in tone from sampled or modeled epiano isn’t worth the hassle unless you are a real keyboard player and it’s an important part if your sound. Even then, there is a reason you almost never see them on stage anymore, replaced by the ubiquitous clavia stage piano offerings.
Redsound Elevata turned up;
HOWEVER
Has some sort of error with it where you turn it on, and the display just shows the OS version. Nothing else lights up (Redsound products usually run through all their lights on startup).
Only thing I can get it to recognise is if I hold down the buttons to initate the sound demo, it briefly flashes up TEST MODE on the display, but then reverts back to the OS version.
As there were only 150 ever made, I can find nothing online in terms of troubleshooting. Going to go through the manual today, but not looking too good
DUDE.
very cool, but weird layout with the double-sided 2 octave keyboards. A lot of real estate is taken up by the display - imo they could have made that bit smaller and had a four octave keyboard. Reminds me a bit of this
Does anyone here own a Volca beats and is it any good ?
its p fun, but not highly usable imo. At least not for me. I have used the kick drum and toms on a few tunes though. The volca sample thing seems much more powerful but i’ve not yet got my hands on one to test.
I have a Volca Beats and as cyclopian said, it’s pretty fun. I have not used it in a production yet and I do not think I would want it to be my main drums. Maybe layered in.
I mainly use it when I am jamming out on analog synths and I want some rhythm accompaniment and do not want to be tied down to a computer.
I just got a Beatstep Pro, so that will help in that regard. I will probably sync the Beats with a clock signal from the Beatstep.
so, sell it for drug money ?
cheers tho
Sample it, sell it & use the money @ ali baba’s
