This has me gassing hard

It’s what I imagine a modern Ensoniq synth engine would look like.

I think I’m going to get a Bro-1.

Are they finally coming out? It seems like they announced it way too early

Yeah, it is finally in full production. I’m waiting until pre-orders are available and then it will probably be another 6 months after that.

My Boog is still going strong more than a year later and it sounds nice!

I’m kind of gassing on Behringer RD-8, the TR-808 clone.

Do I need an 808? Not really but it would be fun.

Yes.

Yeah you should get one.

Just came out. I’m checking it out tonight - dev has a very solid track record and the videos look sick. Available on iOS and Android.

I picked up a pair of Genelec 8030s & Genelec 7050B sub this week. I have never played with studio equipment and want to make sure the audio interface I pick up does it justice & will last a long time. Prefer to buy once and be done with it.

I Will only be using for audio playback from my windows PC & Xone 22 when want to play my records and no midi devices.

To playback audio from my mixer would I be able to use 2 XLR ports and run some software to output audio to my monitor?

My current budget is around £200 but willing to stretch if it will make a huge difference. After a few days on Gearslutz is seems the Audient iD14 is the front runner.
Does anyone have any other recommendations? Have looked at other interfaces in the same price bracket including the Focusrite Scarlett, Steinberg UR22 MKII (updated Steinberg UR22C too), Roland RUBIX22 and Zoom UAC-2 but don’t seem to perform as well.

Apologies about the long question and possible confusion.

The id14 is a very good choice.

If you want to upgrade anything in this setup, go for the mixer. It’s fairly noisey.

The interface will replace your internal audio card. So your computer will use the id14 as
the default audio output and it will be connected via usb. The signal is digital until it is outputted via xlr (or trs) from the id14 to an input on your Xone:22.

Just take either a set of XLR to RCA or TRS to RCA to connect the audio interface to your
mixer and use XLR to connect your mixer to the speakers (guess you already did this).

Thank you for the advice.

Is it not possible to have a setup without the mixer running all of the time? I hardly use it currently and want it sounding clean as possible when using my PC.
I Don’t mind buying a different audio interface to achieve this.
The image below is how I imagined it would work, are you able to advice further?

8030 (in) to sub (out) connected via XLR
sub (in) to audio interface (out) via XLR to TRS
Xone22 xlr (out) to audio interface (in) via XLR
audio interface to PC via USB

Thanks.

Oh sorry I didn’t pay close attention to the i/o on the id14.
It’s just the one set of outs and they are trs.

Yeah you could definitely connect it the way you’re suggesting.
Especially cause the id14 acts as a controller too. I like having all my audio go
through my Xone as my rme interface doesn’t have physical level control.
I also route the rec out of my mixer back into the interface so I can record anything
easily, whether it’s vinyl or something that’s playing from the computer. You’ll need
an extra set of inputs for that of course.

Perfect, thank you very much.
Sure it will sound a lot better than using dual xlr to 3.5mm cable to play audio from my PC.
Would love some RME gear but out of my price range. :frowning:
