Lawrence Bath - Untitled (Dubstep)

First time i’ve tried this out. Been away for a bit from producing Dubstep, so i’m just testing the waters with this one. I’d be keen to know what people think, so gimme some constructive feedback by all means.

Cheers!

I’d work on the intro and the bridge - it could drop a bit harder as it meanders a bit after that nice roll at the bridge (personally would take out the main riff and upp the sub). the rolling hats are a bit high in the mix too.

Generally nice work man, i’d keep working on it as you have something.

Yeah man its amazing how once you have someone else listen that you can immediately notice a few flaws haha. Thanks for the ideas, i come from the Kromey school of loud hi-hits apparently, so i quite like them up that high to be honest!

Loving that Dub Snare roll before the drop and the vocal sample. Deffo some vibs here.

You might be going for that airy sound with loads of space, I don’t know. Seems to me though that there is a hole in the mix in the lower register. I would fill that with something… like that midrange bass sound you have that only seems to stab once at 1:29.

The clap you have is a bit thin. I really love the other layers you have coming in and out. It needs another layer that plays on every hit. Maybe a snare that has some high bass punch to it.

With the hihat… if you just EQ out a little room for the clap I think it will give you a much more professional sound.

Nice work.

cheers man! i appreciate everything in there. i agree about the whole in the low mid but i’ve been struggling to find something to put in. ill keep at it!

had a bit of time today so i’ve managed to take a few of the suggestions in to account. if anyone fancies checking the update here it is:

Would be a lot stronger if you got the main stab out in the drop, and brought it back in later in the track IMO TBH IMO
