Yeah big release this. Ido Plumes is probably one of my favourite producers of the last few years. Especially because his output predominantly favours stuff between 90-100bpm and dubsteppy stuff so can always get his stuff into sets

Promoter will upload it to SC at some point, but thought I’d share the dl of the recording of my club set from Friday here. Half time dnbish stuff into mutant dancehall. Lots of fun playing this stuff in the dance and the crowd seemed to be into it :gunfinger:

From an interview with the band Coil - in 2002 (!):

John Balance: Since I quit… I don’t know how to say it, but you have to be very careful with what you let in your ears as a musician because everything can affect you somehow. We go to great lengths to be influenced as little as possible. The best way to do that is to find a genre of music that is a bit neglected, such as musique concrète, and surround yourself with that music.

That acts as a kind of insulating layer against all the garbage that’s out there. We also listen to classical music, or just crazy stuff… What else is there that you’re listening to?

Sleazy: Kind of acid dancehall…

John Balance: Acid-mutant-dubmonster-‘Atari Teenage Riot meets Lee Scratch Perry’ kind of things. It’s great music. Every now and then you have to cleanse yourself with such things…
