you could also enable the root user

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/*.vst

is the commandline that worked. So I have run it on my VST & VST3 folders to prevent all this nonsense again. Apparently Catalina is causing big problems for producers and DAW users due to rigid security protocols and removal of support for 32bit.

Missing an ‘r’

An R?

I always want to write an S too.

If it starts with a vowel sound, I want to put an an down.

The command was missing an r
-rd

That’s the correct way to do it. The usage of ‘an’ is about the sounds of the words not necessarily the letters

“An r” is correct.

Goddamn Catalina OS has some interesting quirks
What the hell is this doing now? It worked fine yesterday…

becoming a dev 101: learn to code google the error message

iirc i had this before and trashing the ~/Library/Application Support/audacity folder and reinstalling sorted it

I already did

And usually you end up with a load of dead end message board threads from 5 years ago. Or an MacUser blog post telling you to buy something to fix it.

Id rather ask you lot so i get a straight answer and some sort of conversation about the issue to help me umderstand it.

:yxes: :yxes: :yxes:

why the fuck would i want windows?

Well, just thought you’d want to make some music instead of researching how to bypass and fix the ‘features’ of osx
