The new Catalina OS is fucking with music production big time. Native Instruments have stated that none of their software will work under Catalina. There’s a lot of issues surrounding their Gatekeeper. And the Audacity issue seems relatively simple to solve, probably a setting somewhere.
that’s why I update my OS so reluctantly lol I’m still on mojave
I also use mac and its generally fine I just find it funny whenever someone clowns on apple
Stay there my dude. Life was better back then.
It doesn’t seem like a good security practice.
But Apple breaks everything.
Still Windows 7. Everything works.
That is not good security either.
What is your password?

At least you are using a passphrase.
But you are probably using this password across several accounts.
fuck Catalina. solution to a problem that didn’t exist.
It’s like Apple just getting their users who have to upgrade constantly used to things not working correctly again; as some sort of prelude to M1 software development surprises.
Meanwhile, you can pick up a second hand Mac Pro that shipped with Sierra/Mojave with like 64gb ram and dual 3.7ghz processors for around 1000 bucks already. and prices are continuing to go down/stabilize.
I got my Catalina MBP through my insurance as my old one had a run-in with a cup of hot coffee.
I wouldn’t have chosen Catalina as an OS otherwise. I’ve made it work for what I need it to do for now thanks to these guys helping me out
Mojave for life. (except for like, now obvs)
I started designing sounds in Reason yesterday, thinking of throwing stuff into Fasttracker 2 and make a beat with my own sounds there, then prolly bounce the channels and mix in Reason afterwards. Doesn’t have to be lofi chiptune sounds just because it’s tracker.

Using my OP-1 as midi controller lol. It actually shows up in the Fasttracker 2 clone too, which is nice. I’ve never used any midi keys or controllers in trackers before.
I haven’t used a tracker in forever. Although Acid is/was technically a tracker I guess.
Have you tried Renoise?
I’ve played around with it a bit, but never really got into it. I still have it installed though so might take it for a swing again.
Im really intrigued by the Polyend Tracker and seen people do lots of cool stuff with it besides just chiptune or jungle (although it looks pretty sick for jungle obv)
I’d love to try that one.
As more and more people are getting into music making they are looking for easy access to the building blocks for their journey.
sounds like corporate codespeak for subscription model coming
