Production Thoughts

We must be careful using 3rd party software because one glitch in the matrix and we get suckered into buying more stuff.

Been inspired to make something using NI MASSIVE. This is it. The download is available for anyone. I hope it gets put into a mix, if it does I want to hear what it sounds like in the mix.

Made this thing in 2 sessions here the other day. Mixed on a pair of some battered Bose-QC25 so don’t get too surprised if the low end is muddy af.

They’re both plugged in, but how come the red one won’t send audio from my pre-amp/ turntable to Yamaha studio monitor? Could someone please tell me?

Try another cable?

What are you trying to do?

It can be argued that I’m trying to take over the world and become King. However this is the problem I use a lot of second-hand equipment and am trying to come up big.

I’m listening to vinyl records that my uncle gave me but only through one of my Yamaha monitors. For some reason the splitter in the pic doesn’t send a signal to the 2nd Yamaha studio monitor. :pirate:

Edit: @mks i will try another cable.

Turntables require a RIAA preamp.

Generally you would run them through a DJ mixer or an amplifier equipped to handle turntables.

You at least need a preamp. That could be part of the issue.

Also speaker wires are different.

What kind of turntable and what kind of Yamaha speakers?

The turntable is a Technics from like 2022. Pro quality ting. Same with the Yamaha monitors (HS5). I’m using a cheapy pre-amp but maybe it is a diamond in the rough :cannon:

OK, I’d say check your cables then. If the cables work, then check the preamp.

I’m getting the same problem again except this time I’m trying to use Ableton Live.

The red one doesn’t relay the audio signal to my Yamaha studio monitor but the black one does.

You have to show us the entire connection.

Sometimes a bit of moisture can help, if you lick both cables and then the plug socket it might sort the problem

Not up bum?

Hmm yh best to be safe and put them both up bum before licking

I’d lick them after bum as well.

Quick question… the old bass bible… is there much bass sounds that only need 2 osc? I can get a third using the digitakts midi channels… well could get another 16 but don’t know how effective they are (translation: I’ve never got em working as well as the osc on the actual tracks themselves)

If so oh boi I’m gonna have some fun

Does anyone have a copy of the old bass bible?? The new ones just non ninjas asking how to make this scrolled sound
