i take back what i said about the carti album after skipping through it once
if you filter out the bad tracks (every feature), you still have like 8-10 decent tracks, with a few incredible ones. opm babi is a masterpiece. the gunshot and swamp izzo spam just elevate it, feel like im listening to a datpiff mixtape in 2012. cant remember the last mainstream rap album i even gave a fuck about

I gotta say I get hipster sour grapes about the back patting for digging totally uncompromising mixtape authenticity. Cmon it’s nowhere near as intense as the datpiff era, and it’s been a self consciously applied aesthetic continuously since then.
