yeah the best tunes have shit subjects lol

And the most wordy and complex stuff is usually ghey singer songwriter stuff or pop music n indie band shit

or the gheyeste thing in the world has to be coherent hip hop with a message lmao

There’s smth humbling about that. Art should be (broadly) beautiful first and foremost, not a device from which to deliver a lecture.

There’s plenty of shit tunes about lean and opps that make those subjects sound drab. Then there’s loads of sublime shit that’s working with those lyrical motifs but the construction of it all has contrast, tension, harmony/dissonance between elements etc that ultimately expresses smth true and beautiful - which u can tell at a visceral level before your superego comes in to evaluate cliches

Anyways obvious bla bla, I think those veeze tunes are fresh sounding overall.

Dunno why you threw pop in there too, since it’s usually the opposite of wordy and complex. My biggest gripe with most of that top 40 or whatever shit, is that it’s way too literal, usually in an extremely superficial, non-poetic way.

Let’s go down to the beach
Feel the sand with our feet
Gotta get something to eat down the street
Singing like a parakeet

KA KA KA, WIBBY WIBBY KA

I think you get my point. Maybe it’s just me being emotionally crippled, but I can’t for the life of me identify with shallow fuckery like that. There’s absolutely no poetry left at all, and a delusional level of positivity, getting shoved into your ears via some ultra-standardised chord progression a million other songs have already used.
I’m not saying musical complexity, or lyrics with “deeper” themes makes things better by itself, but I kinda wish for at least some degree of originality.

Ad infinitum

Using some played drako flow and flexing for the billionth time is played out
Maybe if it was done in a new and inventive way but that shits derivative af
