Sonic boom: why clubs are cranking up the quality instead of the volume

Sonic boom: why clubs are cranking up the quality instead of the volume

Interesting article, got to say Ive never been to any of the places they mention but I will have to check them out.
I def remember the time I listened to James Blakes LP for the first time and some of the tunes sounded like new songs on my friends fairly basic Hi-fi set-up, comparative to mp3 and shitty headphones.

hmmm
been thinking something similar lately
I don’t like crowds
and here there’s only maybe a dozen heads
that dance to dubstep in a way that isn’t generic
so, in my ideal venue, I only want 20 or so

therefore smaller space required,
smaller rent or building cost
easier to avoid noise leakage
and keep volume down to say 70dB at door
easier to keep audience close to bins
and more money to spend on bespoke system
deffo way to go imo.

btw this is assuming I win the lottery

Haha I think a 50cap venue would be a vibe.
