This robotic duck-sounding bass was made while I was experimenting with the oscillator tab in Sytrus. I originally intended for this sound to be a growl, but I thought the robotic duck sound was cool. haven’t been doing much production lately, mostly been playing black ops 3 haha but I worked last night with Vexon and he helped me perfect my drums. Worked on changing around one of my bass sounds and I really like how clean this sounds. I love the kick and snare and I like how the ride cymbal really pops out of the mix.

Dude that’s sick. I know this is a growl thread but how do you get your drums to pop out so much? I can’t figure it out.

Thanks a ton bruh and yeah no worries. I spent a lot of time perfecting my drums and listening to other drums that I like. I am using some snares that my friends have sent me over the past few months and I always put an izotope ozone on them and I pick the parts I like. My snare is 3 snares and a clap, each eqed differently and compressed. And my kick is the low end of a kick Vexon sent me and the highs of a kick I recorded and the mids of an omegamode style kick.

I tried to go for the kick snare and ride from the better off alone remix The first drums are mine and the second half are the original barely even drums 6 - Clyp

I love volume shaper and for some reason I haven’t upgraded up to 4 so I still use this hahah

and I have a midi track for each group that send the midi to my group, in this case its my Noize group and it goes into the volume shaper.

The main thing is just experimenting and trying all of the ableton built in plugins and try and see if you can get anything

Thanks dude, that means a lot to me. It’s hard to find good dubstep drum eqing tutorials. And btw, i could barely tell the difference between your drums and theirs.

Oh and would that method work with Nicky Romero’s kickstart? That’s what i use for sidechaining.

Here is a track I made using the oscillators in Massive. I did som crazy EQing to get the warpy kind of effect.
