Yeah RE: subs a good way to prove it is if you put any weighty classic (or new beat you like for that matter) and stick a WAV of it into your DAW and look at it with a parametric EQ guaranteed there’ll be a steep roll-off/gap under 20/30hz even when the subs in
I must agree you cant do a history of dubstep without talking to Caspa. Love or loathe him and what he may or may not have done for the genre, you cant deny how central he was from the beginning with Storming Productions and then Dub Police bringing through so much talent for the genre. L-Wiz, The Others, Rusko, the list goes on. Not to mention the fabric cd
but as the author has already said, she talked to his folks and they did response little to nothing, so no point in whining afterwards
yes that’s what we were talking about for the last 50 posts.
my bad my bad calm down everyone. human error no malice.
Solid last few posts

dunno if i could justify to myself playing a song out with the lyrics ‘step pon chi chi man’ arent you just going to be making 10% of the ppl in the club feel very uncomfortable.
its unfortunate that its such a big tune
wtf is chichi man
A gay man
ah ok well it’s reggae-influenced music all in all so there’s always the gay-bashing involved
it should be a 100% that felt akward tbf
but i agree, not on
I never play out anything with reggae vocals. Most of the time I have no idea what they are saying, so avoid playing it out altogether in case there is some gaybashing in there, or lyrics about sleeping with underage girls (there are a few well known reggae songs about this!)
Also cos most reggae and reggae a influenced stuff is just wack tbf
Re: Caspa… I don’t know how anyone on this forum can deny he made some bangers back in the day. He may be largely responsible for the onset of brostep but he gets a lifetime pass for Rubber Chicken, Cockney Flute, Louder VIP and his Way Of The Dub remix
u wot
None wack here.
Do you also not play out rap songs because some rappers threaten to beat up other rappers on their records? I’ve been struggling with this personally, how would you suggest I transcend rap-born-rapperphobia?
