Kudos definitely have their shit together but I believe they’re kinda like ST Holdings was in the sense that they choose who they work with pretty carefully. They’ve been going since the early 90’s and seem to be doing well still.
I dunno, didn’t ST go under because they weren’t careful? The labels whose owners I’ve seen and read discussing their start up said they were surprised at how easy going ST were with newcomers.
Yeah, I think this had to do with the vinyl market landscape shifting so rapidly though.
Used to have bigger labels do full on production runs, all of a sudden everyone but the biggest are doing runs of 500 or less. They needed to get more clients to keep the wheels turning.
