at this point idk if any of you homos even care about vinyl or music at all but fyi, drukqs, sort of unremarkable and forgettable album, by obscure prosaic artist named aphex twin (possibly welsh :face_vomiting:) is getting a vinyl repress if thats of interest

I grew up on tapes. My dad got one of the first CD players, when CDs came in the long box that was like twice as long as the jewel case. I used to crank his Bon Jovi cd on that shit and that shit was like full stereo hologram, like fill the room shit, complete crystal clarity, perfect soundstage, like every lick in your face like the guitar is right there. I still like the lobey bassy sound of tapes but like cds were like a sparkling hologram in comparison. Then like into the 90s CDs started to sound like tinny clown shit for some reason so I went to vinyl. I think it was DATs that fucked everything up. DATs sound like shit, compression is wack, noise floor is wack, peak dB is shit. Digital to vinyl sounds better even on acetate.
