Where would I even start to make a Buku sounding lead?

I’ve been trying for a while now to try and achieve something similar to Buku’s sound, but I just can’t get it. Like at all. I’m sure it’s something pretty basic, but maybe I’m missing something. Anyone have any idea?

something about his sounds have always screamed vocoder to me.

Sounds like a super saw with a little bit of resonance. Play with detune/ spread/ vibrato then parallel processing (saturation, chorus, reverb etc.,)

Then MAYBE… If it needs it do some multi-band compression to bring out some of the highs without making it too harsh
