Wobble Theory

Wobble theory thread.

I just bounce out a long one-shot wobble with the rate at 1/4 (ie, 1 per beat), then in the audio clip I can wip out the calculator to set the rate (number of wobs over number of beats, eg 7 / 2.5 = 2.8.), changing the rate for each hit for your groove. The wobble will start and end at the bottom, which sounds smoothest. Then you can adjust the audio pitches to anything, not just notes on the keyboard (eg 1.8 semitones up) and get your bassline that way.

Saves having to fuck around with automation and shit.

I’ve been using a tremolo setting to fluctuate my bass lines. Sounds shite but it’s a learning curve.

I remember when we’d have a new “how do you make wobble bass?” thread every day or so on the old dsf!
