Nice af man
Today was insanely foggy
Ye, unfortunately I didn’t have any batteries with charge left today, so missed that. Bit of a bummer.
Great photos!
I’ve started messing with GB Studio, a software for creating games for the Game Boy. It can export ROMs that can be run on the real hardware, as long as you stick to the (rather extreme) limitations of the engine/hardware. The GB was released in 1989, fyi.
My plan is to make a 2D top-down scifi horror adventure, just so I can design some sounds and music for it. It’s compatible with a GB soundchip emulator tracker called hUGETracker, so I’ve been trying to get into that the last few days. It’s pretty similar to working with the NES chip emulation in Furnace tracker. I haven’t managed to wrap my head around the Wave channel yet, but it seems pretty powerful, compared to the fixed-volume Triangle channel that the NES uses.
To make the graphics, I’ve chosen Aseprite as my main software. I haven’t gotten very far regarding making anything usable for this game idea yet, but here’s a first sketch of some kind of “logo” for my main chiptune project Shabby Chip.

Finally got around to moving this table to the other room, to make space for a custom-built table for my synths and audio gear. At least that’s the plan. I haven’t drawn up a proper blueprint yet, but I think I’ll go for some kind of tiered setup.
This is how the corner will be used in the meantime. That’s the Yamaha Motif, which I’ve used for many years as my main keyboard for composing ITB.
Behind it is a Yamaha CP10 electronic piano, and to the left, a Korg Wavedrum Oriental.
Are you using a painting as a curtain??
Ye, I don’t have rails for a curtain on that window yet, so using the painting to limit the neighbors’ view of my main desk and PC. That’s also a reason why I moved this table out of the way, so the landlord can come down and put up a rail here too. He recently put one up in the bedroom. Next step is to be able to afford curtains, heh. Step by step.
Gonna use that card with one of these cartridges for GB, to test out ROMs, and prolly also for LSDj.
Bought some curtains.
Practicing drawing shapes. Looks pretty cool, considering that it’s really just a bunch of lines on a paper. Added some marker to make the shapes more clear, it’s not real “shading” per se. Gonna try to do more of this, just sketching shit on the regular. Got a 500-pack of regular printer A4 paper, saving the expensive “arts” drawing paper for actual attempts at more proper pieces.
Got my drawing corner set up again, finally. Haven’t started using the dip pen yet, figure I need some isopropyl alcohol for cleaning the nibs before I can do that, otherwise they’ll get ruined instantly.
Kept doodling on the page to the right in pic above, just kept adding random stuff, tryna find more defined shapes in what I already had on the page, etc.
