Commodo, Kahn, and Gantz - Volume 1

Wow the album sold the hell out quickly. Glad I copped it.

Gonna try to listen to as little of whatever tracks are out there as possible before the release date so I can cherish the tracks more. Did that with the Inbox Island EP from Sharp Veins and it felt like such a better experience.

been waiting for this for weeks… going to be the first song in my mix.

the amk tune is the one i’ve been waiting for to make this release platinum kryptonite strength

brap

yeah man that one is something else :gunfinger:

Only listened to the downloads so far on my phone with earphones, still gotta wait on the vinyl. But ffs, such a good release, this isn’t actually fair. How are shitty producers like me gonna get signed to medi when Commodo, Kahn and Gantz are doing shit like this

Going to buy the wavs off juno today along with MC Navigator’s new album sampler Junglist Sound EP.

TRUSIK review >>

Wouldn’t be surprised if a ā€œnameā€ American rapper or R&B type snapped them up for production work (a la Evian Christ or whatever).

Other producers have managed it.

Well not shit… but you know… not their standard.

I seem to be in the minority but most these tunes are average compared to their solo work, only stand out one is Crystal Collect to me.

I don’t think you understand quite how shitty I am

worth it for crystal collect and amk for me, other tunes i’m not 200%gassed about

Not listened to it all yet but from the clips and stuff I’ve heard it seems this release is less dancefloor orientated whereas their solo stuff is quite heavily dancefloor orientated. Even if they would destroy it and get wheel ups (like AMK) they just seem less focused on that aspect of it… the long intro on AMK for example isn’t exactly DJ friendly.

Feels like this, more so than their solo stuff, is more focused on music you can listen to at home.

So far amk, crystal collect and bitchcraft are that stand outs. So familia grew on me since the video first dropped. Kibosh is like 95% gas and unmistakable is quite nice. Still waiting for the vinyl/listen on the home system though

i agree to a certain extent and definitely see where you’re coming from. tbh though, this exceeded my expectations. we often think that if you just throw 2+ talented producers in a room together, they’ll come up with something better than the sum of their parts, but look at most collabs (in dubstep)… that’s not usually the case imo.

imo, AMK, Bitchcraft, Crystal Collect are highest tier tunes. So Familia would be up there too had they not dropped the bpm down so low. Unmistakable is a tier below them. Kibosh… not too gassed on that one but it’s their album not mine.

The biggest thing I wish they did differently though was with Crystal Collect. It kinda sounds like two tunes forced into one track tbh. I would much rather have seen them take the first drop and develop a full tune out of it, and do the same with the second drop. That would have turned one complete banger into two complete bangers. And of course, they have the space on the LP to add another track, so there’s no reason not to imo.

Nah the second drop on crystal collect is sick. Tbf I love second drops, kinda gives tunes a bit to look forward to if that makes sense. Also bitchcraft is fast becoming my favourite track

yeah, i like the second drop more than the first drop on Crystal Collect. I guess this is just me being selfish to a certain extent, but I’d rather be able to just play that part (Space Cash v3) in a set without having to find a cue point in the middle of the song.

in other words, i wish they took the part that sounds more like Hyperreal, made that into a full song, and took the part that sounds more like Space Cash and made that a full song, and put both on the album as complete tracks.

entitled cuture m8 raspect the artists jah Mala please
