Set the poll up to allow multiple votes per user imo.

You do you do that?
when you make the poll, select multiple choice, then you can choose how many choices per person.
Also, try to make it very clear via some bold text or something that people have more than one vote above the poll, I remember we had problems with that in the past

yeah its fairly new addition to the UI, its under the gear icon when you make a reply/new post
