DSF61 Production Competition: The Remix

Dropbox or Google Drive are good suggestions. I suggest we then set up criteria for file type and formatting, autismo style, for the next one I will probably not be participating in.

google drive you can preview in lossless

If I could just get consistent filename structures that’d be a start :lol_og:

That’s what I’m saying lol. Make a format.

Compo number/Song name

With specified file type, wav preferably.

I can’t even get ppl to submit their track on time with a 5 week comp

i get gold sticker i handed in my homework early

1 BigUp

That’s their fault though, not yours.

1 BigUp

i guess should get people to test there tracks on sc first in private settings so the artist can see if it gets flagged before submission

.wavs take up a lot of space.

I always fill in the metadata on the 320’s I upload. And try to title it well in the filename. With no spaces because that fucks with the FTP.

What sample even got flagged?

It’s probably some bullshit algorithm.

I’ve straight up sampled Roy Ayers and Weather Report and never got flagged.

Wait, what?

wtf fr fr fr

That is just an lfo on a tone basically.

Shit is going to be fucked.

yep this is whats causing the problems i think this is made on purpose everyone should spam report the video to get it taken down lol

only joking btw please dont do this

Yeah, it’s only got 24k views too lol. And the comments are all people who’s songs got flagged cuz of it

Edit: shit, only 4k actually lol

That is bullshit. People getting flagged with that? wtf?

I make sounds like that all the time.

Usually don’t put them out as a song though.

But they are copywrited. ffs

Maybe we have to do this diy punk style.

This is the only tune I’ve ever uploaded that got flagged for copyright:

I guess it wasn’t severe enough to get taken down though. Actually I’ve been trying to find more Svpreme tunes, almost impossible to find now.

Big tfu to @sleeps for being the guy on this. And yeah, there’s gotta be a better way.

I’ve been bitching for years about wanting a different platform for a number of reasons: their compression doing wild things to mixes sometimes, the fact that the sequence is static and the last tracks always get like half or less listens compared to the first few (ideally it’d shuffle for each listener), and now this strike bullshit… smh SC.

This would be easy enough for a modestly competent coder to script but we’d need a place for the files to live and permissions added to support the embed code.
