Thanks a lot everyone! Fwiw micro-sampling was how the dub-chords (and the pad) were made (+ a stock ableton rack called smt like “dub echo”) - and the little bouncy synth that @Phigure mentioned is simply the vocal sample pitched up an octave and chopped to a call and response thing.

Pretty straight-forward track imo and I’m more often than not very impressed by all the off kilter and bass heavy beats that are submitted!

Also I had no idea that the next comp was going to be centered around dub techno prior to submitting my track…

my brother came round mine on day i voted i said hey come here listen too these tracks which 2 you think are best he said 7 and 3. he said number 1 was his favourite i said nah thats mine cant vote for that. i changed my votes are it got updated i think i went with 3 and 4 originally. but i liked the production but dub techno aint my vibe too mellow for me. i liked 5 for the drums and vibe off it so i changed it too that.

The pack is comprehensive, and there’s a YouTube playlist for inspo so should be fairly simple to knock something up

yeah I heard what was recommended i put it on in the background while doing stuff, i just know im going to steer into tech house or im going to go overboard with the bass lol like some rumbly techno stuff my plan just stick too sine wave and not overcomplicate it
