While I know that PT is the industry standard and v powerful and all I feel like they rode on their laurels and everything they’ve done to court the prosumer market has been too little too late. There’s a place for high end stuff, but stop trying to be everything to everyone imo.
re: Juno 60… ha. Got mine for $35 twenty years ago.
But you can generate CV clock with an iPhone or iPad (among other things). More importantly, you might never play a more organic instrument than a Juno 60. It’s just plain gorgeous. I love mine more than any other piece of gear.
Yeah they should just stick to the pro market. To me, even the s3 is too high end
for home use. I wouldn’t buy that for myself.
Not sure I want to clock with something other than midi, but I’ll look into it.
Definitely convinced that a 60 would be perfect for what I want to do, but not
sure the price is warranted. Maybe I’ll be fine with a cheaper modern synth.
Just need something with an arp to create bass lines with. Will first be
replacing my Maschine mk1 to see how that works in conjunction with the rytm.
I have a Juno-106 and I love it but the Juno-60 just sounds fatter. My ex housemate had one and we used to make dodgy electro on it. I think we were triggering it with a TR-707.
I fitted a midi kit in a juno 60 once…was a bit over zealous drilling through the casing for the port holes and mashed a few resistors on one of the internal circuit boards…then had to pay someone to fix it lol oops
In my defense i was young and stupid …and it was my mate who fixed it and he taught me what the coloured bands on the resistors meant, so i learned something at least.
But yeah…proper stupid…i could have drilled the holes with the case open and it wouldn’t have happened
…and that juno 60 is still alive and kicking anyway
_Patchblocks Minijam studio is a portable battery powered mini studio with a wavetable Synthesizer, a drum machine, an analog filter and a mixer which allows to record directly to a micro-sd card. All devices are very affordable and excellent for quick music jams inside and outside. Here is my last minute impression about the pre-production units of the minijam studio available later in 201_7.
Found a Roland DC 20 delay in an electronics shop here in Osaka for about 100usd. Thing looks brand new. So tempted but will be a bit of a pain to deal with
