Gear Lust Part 7

Can’t comment on the pioneer, but i have the xone23 (not the c tho) and it’s alright. It does the job if ur just a bedroom dj with 2 decks. Build quality is fine for home use.

My issue with it is the phono pre amps, they’re not that great imo. Most records i have to have the input gain right up at like 4 o’clock to get decent metering, which doesn’t leave much room if you have a quiet pressing.

Couldn’t find a decent/recent software gear lust thread so I’m putting this here.

Just bought that for the reverse delay alone - sounds so awesome in the demo.
42 quid as well. Bargain.

Decided on a Pioneer djm-450 and Mackie xr624

Literally no one recommended that but fair does.

Bet it’s a better choice than the cheap A&H 2-channels.

lol

You heard about that feud between Peter Kirn of CDM and Uli Behringer. It was petty on Behringer’s part imo.

They just need to keep their head down and keep doing what they’re doing and not get involved in some bullshit.

I’m still waiting for my yellow 303 clone, the TD-3 with an acid smiley face on it.

They’ve been doing the opposite forever though. Fuck them imo.

Laudable effort.

Any recommendations for monitor stands with the dimensions as follows:

Physical Dimensions:
Height: 13.1" / 333mm
Width: 8.6" / 218mm
Depth: 12.6" / 320mm
Weight: 23.4 lb / 10.6 kg

Just looking for a reputable manufacturer.

If they are on a surface then these iso stands are ok, they do 3 diff sizes.

The iso200 sounds about right for them monitors:

Dunno if you are raising them from the floor tho

Thinking I will to save room on my ikea Kallax.

Could get wall brackets? That how i have mine and they are perfect imo

May be my best bet as I’m not seeing any stands that’re tall enough to face me at ear level.

New mixer:

Opted for the djm-450.

Anyone recommend a condenser mic that isn’t too pricy?

Audio Technica AT 2050
Rode NT1 or NT2

Liking these questions. Keep em coming.

Nt1 is looking like a good option price wise.

Would only be for sitting in front of a guitar amp to record anyway

I always used dynamics to record amps. Like an sm57 or a 609.
In my opinion better suitable for close miking amps, but I’m sure you can get a good result with
the NT1. It’s a pretty versatile microphone. On a clean guitar you’ll get much brighter highs and
a nice well rounded low end. Depending on the placement of course but that’s compared to an
sm57 for example.

Do you have any mics already?
