London's clubland woes

I’m glad we have someone like Mirik close by, because this issue affects
me making a living directly.
We just hosted a night mayor thing actually. Guess this London mayor candidate
attended it then.

He is actually the mayor now. I hadn’t seen this before voting for him but it is good to see he somewhat understands the issue and seems genuine in doing something to re-balance it.

I like that he’s put the onus on developers to fork out for the sound proofing.

The night mayor/czar is a good idea too. Seems to be working well in 'Dam

night czar?
how bizzare

go Khan
hope we get an equivalent in Sydney
resisting the ever-widening influence of developers & yuppies
that killed off Oxford Street
including the Interchange Hotel
original home of Void
our equivalent of DMZ

there have been protests over lockout laws
and intrusive security
but not effective yet.

be rude not to pass through i guess

Really wish I could find a nice 100-200 cap venue again
fuk you phonox

Saw oneman played in Tottenham recently at this place. Hadn’t heard of it before but looks decent

this was decent when i went but cant find a website https://www.residentadvisor.net/club.aspx?id=12445

Tom is super safe but he is booked up for months and months in advance.

They really only have space for weekdays and I cant even do week day shows cos of work let alone other folk.
Yeah the “dance rug” only comes out on special occasions apparently haha

That was almost where the first ever one was held.
@Johoosh knows it well

They wouldnt let us do anything after @Lye_Form did something there and we played Grime, said no music like that its too agressive (they are spun out Hard house people)
Also the decks and gear was fucked.
Thought they got shut down actually.

lol. wonder if there’s a discount for those in the community?

5 years since the riots today. totty has indeed changed.

There is a really good practically unknown venue in Shoreditch called Jaguar Shoes.
You go in and it’s like a quaint little bar but there’s a basement room you can hire that is around 100-150 capacity.
It’s where Uncle Dugs held the first few Ribena Jungle parties, which were some of the best nights I ever went to.
Gets hot as fuck in there, but he span vinyl without any problems. Pefect venue for an underground night (dark, low ceiling, half-decent system, bar, toilets).

The space is decent but In house stuff was like a PA i thought, tho i guess it was more wonky cos there was cables and shit everywhere
