this part is super interesting to me though, i really do not think i’ve ever come across this way. In fact, my modus operandi is quite literally the opposite
I think it was part of my annoyance when talking about conceptual “end results” and then you posted a guy doing pretty basic video feedback techniques without any form of concept or context.
There is an absolute necessity and deep value to understand and learn, but I try not to mix that up with the actual doing
Also, I really dont want to diminish that guys explorations in the medium. I think what he’s doing is lovely as a fan of the artform myself but i dont really agree with his way of doing it
im an analogy dummy with the understanding that in reality we live in the grey
ex: you’re showing your friend an extraordinarily and emotionally moving piece of music, and then he shows you a youtube video on how one of the musical techniques is played, or possibly even worse, how the instrument itself is made.
pretty easy to see where a communication based emotional disconnect is going to happen here
it is so tempting to deconstruct the techniques used in a piece of art that moves us because we seek ‘answers’.
We can point to exactly all the parts of an engine that make it work but we can’t then speak to the beauty on display of the entire thing working together without exploring the intent of the design instead of its parts

Being more mindful of what i write It’s all part of me trying to be better and not waste time on inanities and not put bad vibes out into the world. I’m trying to keep peace in my life these days, and pointless arguing on here doesn’t fit into that.
Not to say I don’t enjoy some good back and forth. But I don’t have to fight in every war nahmean

I want to hear how that manifests in your creative mindset, your approach
I’m trying to remove from my life, or remove myself from, things I perceive to be negatively impacting on my inner and outer calm and peace. So if I had to call it, perhaps my creatvity has waned somewhat. I have less turmoil which I used to channel into creating things.
Tbh I’ve not thought that deep into it but it’s an interesting thing to consider.
