Yeah there was, but I still stand by that one, ‘Footsteppin’, wonderful tune, but badly produced and needed work on it. Free download release in the end I think? The Batak Groove / Around is still one of JB’s best releases imho.
came out on ten thousand yen
madly unavailable on discogs as well
i love that one, maybe he fixed it up for that release never noticed it being swag quality
thoughts on working with Shackleton would be cool
cos a lot of those tracks sounded like they were being done with an emphasis on structure and progression, not just bangers for the dance… which was really nice to see in a dance-based scene
that + batty knee dance are the only bashmore records i rate
I don’t care what anyone says, Au Seve and battle for Middle you are certified classics.
Meeting up with Pinch on Monday, last chance to get any questions in!
Could you ask if he ever loses it with a tune and just scraps it after like a few hours of being a 16 bar loop. I’m always intrigued if the pros have the same issues.
approximately how many tunes does he make per month/year? has this changed over time?
what portion of tunes that he starts does he finish, and what portion make it to a release?
protecting hands?
“Why did you call yourself Pinch”
by the way pete this is a great idea we need more original content. Maybe when i move in to my new place in september/october ill do some videos and compile some sample packs for production forum or s.t.
Does he lurk DSF and if so who is his favourite member?
Holla if you do want to put something together and I’ll make sure it gets all the right stickies and pushes
sure thing man
I love reading pinch interviews
any plans for the memories remix to come out?
I’m quite curious what you’re referring to
I’d like to know of all the artists he knows personally who has he enjoyed seeing grow musically the most and is there anyone that he wished would have been more recognized?
Soul Motive were going to release Protecting Hands by Clouds, I spoke to Tommi (I think is one of the brehs names) a bit back then and we had a similar sound and approach. They’d sent the tunes to Mala as well who swooped in and offered a release on Deep Medi. A no brainer decision for the Clouds lads really. Deep Medi put them far further out there than we ever could have.
LAST CHANCE FOR QUESTIONS. I’ll be adding some of my own as well.
