we have less votes than entries still.
Tag everyone regualrly active on the forum in a post, that usually pulls in a couple more voters
I still haven’t listened to the tracks yet. Planning on doing it Tuesday with my buddy
I know I’m slow, just been trying to cope with all the aggression lately.
??
Just been having strong feelings, not used to it since I’ve been in sedated fog mode for so many years. Guess it’s kinda a mental backlog.
Aight guys, voted now too.
Many sick entries! Not many polyrhythms though haha. Tbf not in my track either, damn hyperacusis fucked this one for me…
Might have to do another polyrhythms comp eventually now we’re a bit more used to the concept
2 days left to vote guys. Get em in if you haven’t already
Yeah I’d love to do another one. I’m not super thrilled with mine, and would really like to do better.
Polyrhythms are definitely going to influence everything I make from now on tho
Now you get it, hehe.
A tiebreak situaiton with one day left to vote!
when you guys submit so many good tracks it makes it too hard to pick lol. wish I had 4 votes this time. didn’t manage to submit this time cause life stuff came up but maybe if I finish the one I started I’ll post it in here later
It’s a bit more complicated way of doing it, but on the 1 hour chiptune competitions I join sometimes, we usually rate all the tracks with points, from “best” to “worse”, then all those points are combined for each track, and a ranking list is made.
not a bad idea, im sure there’s websites that let you make a ranked choice poll
Yeah probably. We could just make one if not lol.
I had a look into ranked voting before for a comp I ran, seems relatively simple, just need to find one that embeds properly here
On the IRC everyone just sent their scores to the one hosting, then that dude compiled it and made a list. Though I know they also have a pretty nifty server back-end for downloading the sample packs, then uploading the tracks, then downloading a pack of all the tracks for sync listen when the hour is up. This system also saves all the entries and scores for archiving afterwards. I’m guessing the setup is really simple, if you know how to code.
i like the idea of a shorter timeframe, but then everyone has to be available at that time. An hour is short. i did this one in about 2. I think 4-8 might be around ideal. or a whole day. A whole month gives people time to forget or just lose track of the date. If noone’s going to be a stickler about a deadline, doesn’t matter anyway. it’s all good ![]()
I think we’ve done a few very short time span competitions, usually like a day or a week if I remember right.
Rankings is an interesting idea. Could give it a go. I know there was one where we had like a tune challenge type voting system where the entries were grouped and voted on, then the winning songs went on to the next voting round or something, but I think it was a nightmare to organize
