The Original Growl Bass Thread (Official)

Went in serum and found a screechy FM squarified wave table and another FM spectral wave table and I modulated the Wavetable position of each of them and I used the REMAP 1 algorithm for the first wave table and just brought up the intensity of the wave about 70-80% and the level of the REMAP 1 to about 60. Then I added Distortion, hyper dimension, EQ, Filter on HP 12 setting, then the compressor.

My effect chains looks like this

Phase > EQ > Camel Crusher > compressor > EQ doing a vowel E > EQ doing a vowel OE (I switch back and forth from the EQs being on and off) > Multiband Compression > More compression > EQ > reverb > Tube distortion

Yeah and a few effects I will send you a picture of the effects quick

anyone know how to make this bass? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgdtZNdgHy8

i hope this is kind of what u were looking for

Stupid…

Work seriously on your Growl basses instead of sending anything…

The sytrus patch is a sine wave frequency modulated by a bunch of random harmonics. Now it should sound like the most horrible thing ever conceived by mankind. then you RM the ear rape oscillator with a sine wave that has ā€œevenā€ and ā€œhalf enabledā€.

Then this chain of FX happens http://imgur.com/gallery/D82sOK6/new :full_moon_with_face:

This is why I prefer Sytrus over FM8. In sytrus you have an RM matrix and you can draw and import your own waveforms.

But I still use FM8, because I sometimes like to have less control over whats happening, because I tend to overcomplicate things. :full_moon_with_face:

Edit: Oh and when you double the pitch of the modulating oscillators it becomes ā€œterror squad-yā€. This applies to any FM patch.

Not bad bro’ but for sure you can make it sounds closer maybe by using a bandpass & a highpass filter for the voweling…

I made something like this, i used serum, vocodex and a ton of distortion: https://clyp.it/zxzae0lq?token=bc4eb5bd4eb307be79c888e5cad50a01 The second part is just the unprocessed version :3

dope man I really like that

Sounds awesome man keep up the good work

Here is a little bass that ST4RBUCK helped me with, I changed the wavetables and modulated the phaser with an LFO then brought the feedback up to 0.99 then changed the dry wet to about 45-50%. Then I modulated the auto filter with a macro and also modulated the scales of two EQs to add the formants. I added an OTT before those EQs and after just because and then added some distortion, compression, and added reverb and some delay

Man…stop uploading the same bass everyday !!..boring
Try to challenge yourself for once…

Haven’t posted in a while but here is just a stupid standard growl bass that a noob would use.

What is this made in? Sounds sick.

Here’s a thick, guttural growl, modulated by Drake’s voice. :heart_eyes_cat:

Lol…

I’d love to know how to do the process of ā€œEQ Modulationā€ for growl basses to get more vocal movement in them. Can anyone refer me to a video or a post or something of how I could do that? I’m in Ableton and want to try it out on growls I make in the future.

Ask him … (Spitfya)

sounds awesome man hahhaha xD
