Nice work on your last EP …

Don’t know if you would call these growl or drones but I have been spending the past few hours trying to get spitfire riddim down. I think this remake turned out pretty well.

(First part is my recreation, the only sample used is the high hats and the crowd in the back ground and the second part is the original)

On point dude! Can you share some details pls? :0

I found out that in Serum, Massive, or really any wavetable synth, you can make the growls phatter by transposing the oscillators in fifths rather than octaves (7 semitones, 19 semitones, 31 semitones, etc).

Edit:
I figured out it sounds even better if you’re doing FM/PM and you make the carrier a fifth higher.

First one is without the carrier raised a fifth and the second one is: https://clyp.it/y2e0wppe
I know it sounds pretty subtle, but you really start to notice there’s a really big difference once you use it a bit more.

Oh really ? I only did that on like screeches and Leads but that also works on Growls ? Damn I need to try this right now dude

ohh yeah bruh its a kanga wave table with the phase at 60 and I just modulate the phase with a macro and I have a filter that is also being modulated in the instrument rack. But its the effect chain that makes it. Took a ton of time but its just otts with phasers, saturators, and a ton of EQs.

I can confirm, was working on some FM style AIFILAB / Terror Squad / DJ tool basses and doing this works very well. you just have to play hi or low notes in my case.

@KosmonautOfficial @XoraX @RedCyan Also don’t forget about the poor little Filter FM in Massive, that’s one of my favorites in it.

Sorry for late reply but, honestly I make sure the sub mono on my master, from there I just play around with making a sound and making sure the I don’t let it become too stereo or too mono. Think of it like walking on the curb or the side walk, it can be fun but its dangerous if you go too far out.

That and Dimention expander

how was it working with ST4RBUCK

ohh it was awesome man ST4RBUCK works really well and he makes amazing music. It was an honor to work with him. I was planning on posting an EP with the song we worked on in it but I might try to remaster it with him and put it out on our soundclouds.

I took a break for a little just to work on my sound design and decided not to post much on here. Got some new sounds and I really like the direction its going but does anyone have some tips I might not have heard before on getting good vowel movements and formats in my growls?

Here is how the progression on the sound went:

Got this by FMing 2 waves and added basic vsts https://clyp.it/rlb4kehu

Then got this by adding mb compression and phasers https://clyp.it/nwtsvgvz

Then this with more crazy effects but I thought it was missing some mids https://clyp.it/pvyt3n1e

Then I finally got the sound I was looking for. I just need to get it moving more and add more vowels https://clyp.it/0zcgezqj

This a growl that I made I was going for a smans sound but whatevs

I made this SMNS Growl in Fm8 earlier today https://instagram.com/p/9Cy2KZhSpF/

Care to explain a bit on how you achieved it?

Made this with fm and sine compression. Howd I do? https://clyp.it/z00thxhh
