Yeah my first acoustic was an old washburn, I loved that guitar, but gave it to a friend who didn’t have a guitar after I got my taylor. I’m psyched to have another one. Probable gonna swap the pups out though for some gibsons or something. Get that legit 335 sound.
GenRL - This sample is dope as fuck, and those voices in the background. I would have like some more movement in the percussion, like something to get it jumpin’ if you know what I mean. My tune was very minimal as well though, so I can’t say shit.
dfault- you and generals shit had the same vibe (the first song) like I said with his, I’d like more movement but I’ve been listening to hype shit all day so w/e. The second track had this quarky summertime vibe to it, I like it a lot. That clap seems a little loud to me though. Could benefit from some light bongos and shit in the background.
Buuuuuuud-Ahhhhhhhhh shit dude. I’m lovin this, everything about it. The mix is sounding tight on my end, diggin’ when those vocals drop down and those background swoon type things. Nothing to criticize.
Gonna have to hustle hard to get a tuna done this week since I won’t have a functioning computer until later in the week. I will be giving feedback definitely if I don’t get something done though.
ok hope i can reply again will give feedback later
thanks zosomagik
and still cant figure out how to pm lol and is there a way to open the link directly and not and up on the artist main page?
(foudn out the link thing but pm ?!?! )
@zosomagik
like it so far. vocals fit perfectly maybe give the snare bit more power? i dig this deep kick though melody is maybe too playful at parts maybe try when the arp starts just an arp section? and bring the melody back later
has some tiny sharp edges but in a kinda warm way. hm besides that very solid start dig it alot
@Samuel_L_Damnson
haha even deeper sub. as often said i have no knowledge in this instrumental stuff but i like the sample choice here
have to say the same very close to faultiers stuff you guys should collabo lol. all seems to fit together not much to say maybe tiny bit less pressing away when the subkick hits?
faultier
Hi
could be on the same compilation as genrls hm yeah i know you raise the power later so yeah do that abit when self mastering but i like the sample choice all from one song? could be sth running in the back in a skatevideo haha in a good way
Bleedin
bit more upbeat. i think the snare might bit out of place but not sure does fit but maybe something even muddier like old sampled vinyl or breakbeat snare or sth. but has a nice wonky rythmn maybe even more shuffle in the beat?!
@BudSpencertron let me just say I really liked the track a lot, and the only suggestion I would make is to try taking the synth melody that comes in to a more arpeggiated/rhythmic place, I like it, but I think it could become a good focus for the track by being a little more rhythmically interesting rather than just on the beat note hits. But that’s all I’ve got, really enjoyed it.
thanks man
but wouldnt be a classic arp be on beat still but i hear you def take it into consideration or for a vip
lol good point! haha I should have just said rhythmic, that’s what I really meant.
You gonna get in on the tuna?
Definitely! I just didn’t want to invite myself I just send it to @tabasco?
yeah just PM a link to something you did that week every friday. Tuna is open to anyone.
@zosomagik really nice one, vaguely reminiscent of kuedo in a way
the vocal sample is used well, though i think maybe you should mess with it a little more? like run it through some effects and see what sticks?
i feel the arp melody could evolve to become interesting over time. maybe the hi-hats could be more distinct, i’d try and see if you can get them to cut through the mix better with a transient shaper possibly?
@Samuel_L_Damnson nice sample flip dude, what did you use for the sub?
depending on whether or not you plan to have someone rapping over it, maybe you could try and find a few more vocal snippets in the original tune to have more variety?
also the thing bud mentioned with the sample volume ducking at times when the bass hits, possibly an issue with sidechaining?
@BudSpencertron man this is really good, can’t fault it really, just make a proper outro and i think you can call it a day
Haha nice one man! (And everyone else I’ve just read thru) I did the side chain thing on purpose but if everyone not rly feeling it I can remove it haha. It is a beat I made with vox in mind rly. The sub is an 808 kick. I think its just compressed, lowpassed and really loud haha
I will just sneak away from work a sec and do some feedback.
Big up everyone
@Zosomagick
sickkkkkk
The only thing id do is maybe add some wooden sounding percussion to fit with the noisy rainy vibe, perhaps wood blocks and castantets pitched down panned all over the shop. in the middle gap put like a radio effect on the vox for added banter. But i really dig the snare and the synths. mix sounds good!
@faultier (Hi) This is like many people said siilar to mine but about a thousand times better smaple picking and work
I really like Your kick and sub section in this one man propper earthy feeling, i might add that i feel the snare could have a slight bit more high end on it (literally just a db or two high shelf) for me. but then again it does fit the vibe of the track anyway. Not too much more i can say other than nice one.
(Bleedin)
Fucking nailed it dude. Nothing to add to this one. (Soz)
Instantly lovving the stab work on this one as soon as it started got me proper hooked. how did you make the low one?
Fucking banger throughout really, again as i usually say i really like your vocals processing and jus the overall progression. only thing id do, is turn up the reversed sounding hi hat very slightly so its a little more audible but other than that, great work
:3 thanks again hm lots of loops man me and my bro are lazy fucks
but the low end i think is just basic stuff reece or sth with a sub the more basic it is the better it sounds imo
you mean those ride/hi hatesc sound every bar or so ?
and yeah man dont make yourself smaller tahn you are
actually funny for me like i say you should collabo when i heard the similarities in those two or three tunes but both of you have such a big spectrum of sound like you had thos dubstep sound he had idmesc even (lol i get hate for turning down instrumental hip hop) but yeah in my head i hear greatness in a collabo like that
Yea the rideish thing that sort of rises up.
I think we should do a collab IMO(I need to wait til I finish at this place though so I can actually not be busy in the evenings) if ur up for it @faultier
How’s everyone’s tunas going this week?
@Samuel_L_Damnson definitely up to give a collab a try whenever you have time (tho i have a habit of flopping on collabs, you’ve been warned)
That makes two of us lol
My new computer should be here tomorrow, and I have off the next two days. So I’m gonna hustle to get something done in the next two days. Just got a new semi-hollow body guitar today so that will definitely be in there. Hoping to do something like this with it:
Sounds interesting! I’m just making a grime inspired beat haha
