I tell myself that every month and next month rolls around and before I know it I’ve spent more than I’d like to on records.

Have been thinking about how to address this lately and was thinking each month letting myself buy X number of new records and X number of used records. Also maybe a record has to be in my wantlist for a certain amount of time before i let myself buy it to reduce those impulsive buys.

Problem I’m having currently is I’m buying a lot of oldschool grime atm which a lot of is being scalped to fuck right now. Records which only a couple years ago would regularly go for around 5 quid are now being sold for 30+. If i spot a good deal on a ££ plate i panic and think I’m never going to see it again at that price and buy it. Have bagged some absolute belters recently but its not sustainable lol especially now lockdown has ended

All prices going up constantly for new releases too, even redeye shipping has gone up to £4.20 for 1 x 12" from like £3 ish not so long ago smh

Moving to serato DVS was the best financial decision I made. Thankfully I had a controller for a few years too.
Buying new turntables and a mixer was not a clever financial decision (but my old ones were fucked).
So they cancel each other out lol
