The░Cardboard░Castle (夜ぺゐ)# AKA Para's Stuff #

My guess is that this is 100% some dumb American copyright bullshit, probably because of music licensing or whatever, not actual censorship lmao.

It’s age-rated 18 in UK. Over here it’s 15.

Gonna head to a friend’s little 2-day “festival” thing tomorrow and play a vinyl dubstep set, gonna be the first public set I’ve done since 2022. Got sent some pics of the stage and booth, looks vibey.

Dubstep!

Cred to Shubham, one of the other DJs, for catering to my expensive camera gear long enough to catch me “in the wild”. There are almost no photos of me the last 10 years, apart from dumb potato selfies I’ve taken myself, since I am always just “some guy with a camera”.

One of the other DJs at the rave. Nice booth etc. Nice lights. Nice people.

They got this wooden contraption as a mascot, complete with lights and a smoke machine. They called the rave “The Fox Farm“, apparently it’s an old fox farm, for pelts.

More random brush pen shapes turning into monsters? Something like that. Mostly texture shit really, no real planning. Need to get better at organising my values + make the shapes more defined/planned ahead, which is.. basically the same thing. Haven’t really worked much with graphite sketches first, on any of these. Kinda necessary I guess, if I wanna make some more “proper pieces” eventually.

do you have any formal training or just vibing? cool drawings either way

No formal training, just vibez, trauma and nightmares. Drawing is very much a skill thing, rather than a talent thing. And skills can be trained and leveled up. Started using this brush pen thing less than a year ago I think, but I’ve tried my hands at drawing stuff earlier in my life, at various times. Never actually committed to trying to “git gud” before now though. Got so much time on my hands, so it’s a nice pastime/meditation thing.

yeah going through phases of using drawing as a meditative thing, and same i dont have any training, but kinda envious at how you do shades, somehow its something i never really manage to nail so i was wondering

It’s mostly a training thing. Looking at how other people usually make textures and highlights, try to emulate that, etc. The really hard thing with working with only black & white / ink is to actually use all black or all white to accentuate the forms in the places that makes sense. As I said, so far my stuff is mostly texture experiments, with poorly organised values. It could definitely be improved upon.

I think I’m gonna do some value studies, just using black/white or maybe 3-4 different shades of grey tops. It’s a bit of a mindfuck, but you can kinda “tune your brain” into seeing things like that more easily, if you just do it more.

Mostly more supplies and gear in this batch of photos, but been drawing a lot more too lately. Still seeing steady improvement, which is kinda cool. Gonna try to get access to a good image scanner somewhere, so I can upload proper reproductions of them. I know they have some services like that at some of the libraries around here, but I’ll probably invest in one to have at home eventually.

Got a new 9V battery for my SV-1 Supervibe Chorus pedal and some tools. Screwdriver to open up the pedal, and a set of tiny bits for computer repairs etc. Custom settings in my Canon EOS 5D mkII keeps resetting when I turn it off, so need to replace that battery too.

More drawing supplies. 200 gsm A3 Bristol board, some more brushes & pens, steel ruler, coloured Sharpies, steel scalpel handle with some blades included, a compass (for drawing arcs and circles) and a leather pencil case.

Plywood-ish thing with clamp and a stack of cheap folders for organising/protecting drawings and documents.

Fixative spray for graphite/charcoal drawings, I guess it works for other smeary things too.

Ah ye, rearranged my rack a bit too. Prepping for 2-step sesh with @Harkat on Sunday.

Also got an upcoming DJ gig on October 11th, prolly gonna play digital on this one. Some metal bands are gonna play first, then DJs for the rest of the night playing dubstep & grime primarily.

Im not amazing just loved to draw up until myearly 20s.
I look at some of ur architecture stuff and it boggles my mind.. I always struggled with shading. knowing which angle to draw the shadow and working with more than one main point of reference in 3d blagged my head. fundamentals I know

Breakcore is hallowed ground waiting to be haunted, essentially. Like 1D stuff.
