Yeah Crown is decent. The old stuff is better but that’s been the case for a lot of
these lower segment brands when they started focussing on reducing weight.
I ran DJ monitor sets on Crown amps a lot.

You can get really far without worrying about stuff that really sets the top of the line amps
apart from your Crown’s and QSC’s.

I think the one i bought was deff the lower end quality wise.
Bought it to go with these big passive speakers for when i first bought turntables.
I think the amp was overkill and speakers probably didn’t do it justice.

I swapped to some active monitors for space and convenience but they sounded shit compared in retrospect. I think i just convinced myself it was an upgrade.

Do both if you have the space! Big, loud speakers are simply a lot of fun.

(Personally I don’t have the space, so I do everything on the Genelecs. Fairly
big woofer for my room though.)

What passive speakers with thr amp aswell as active monitors? Deff have the room, never crossed my mind tbh. Fuk i’m gonna look into it, i do need some more volume tbf.
You got any passive speaker recommendations for under £500?
I got Genelec 8040s so would probably be a good idea to get some that go lower freq than those seeing as i don’t have a sub.

You sir must have a very well paid job.

You didn’t know about his porn gig?

Not sure tbh. I’d look at something with a 12" or even 15" woofer if you want some proper punch compared to the Genelecs, but you’ll need a seriously powerful amp for that. You can see how cyclo runs three amps for one system. How big is the room and what amp
have you got?

You generally want an amp that’s rated to deliver around double the RMS wattage of the
speaker. But that’s just to account for peaks. For home system, you can have a 500 watt speaker driven by a 750 watt per channel amp.

Also put a donk on it.

Did the legs come separately? Did you get them at Ikea? Did you have to drill holes for them?

So many questions.

Yes, yes and yes.

You lot have been so wrong with your expidit configurations.
Expecidt on the floor, then another surface ontop of that with feet.
You got storage underneathe the top table and everything is at perfevy height unless you are a midget.

Yeah, plus you aren’t putting a ton of weight on the legs

Exactly

I just got the kallax with the wheels from the off, decks/mixer fit on top fine, height is fine, don’t need any extra storage under the decks anyway so i didn’t have to fuck about making some other platform on top…also that unit is full of vinyl now and it holds the weight fine…the wheels are an optional extra for that unit which don’t require drilling or anything, the correct holes are there already you just screw them in.

Works for me anyway, the only reason i might want a different surface for the decks is if i wanted them battle style, cos they don’t fit in that orientation on top of a standard kallax…but idgaf about that anyway lol

You would gain a much more satisfying height with an extra top with legs rather than those wheels on the button truss.
Imm not lanky either

I have a piece of plywood cut to put on top of the desk because I do play them battle style.
