got reaper 30minuites ago… compared to fl studio this is so new user unfriendly haha i’m going to be watching tutorials constantly for next few days
Yeah that’s the same feeling I had when I tried it lol.
I’m still running fl 11 I think lmao. I need to upgrade to something newer soon. Probably when I get a new laptop.
Cheers! Looking forward to hearing what happens.
REEEEEEAPER FTW
Even if I’m not using it atm lol.
I’ll have to give it another go. Probably when I get my new laptop
I think the learning curve is initially steep but flattens out much more quickly than, say, Logic.
I also think the skinnable aspect of Reaper (themes) is critically overlooked here for noob comfort factor. It made a huge difference for me.
A lot of it is just jet cockpit syndrome - you see 800 switches and dials and freak out. In reality tho, many of those controls are redundant in nature, and to fly the plane there’s a core 10% of functions you really need to know. The rest comes quickly once you’ve mastered that 10%.
If this guy don’t have a video about it then you don’t need to know it
You can also edit the colour of everything in the window down to the macro level. Even the gridlines are editable.
Aw shit I gotta get it now
so techniqually been using fl studio for 14 years this is complelely alien too me and im struggling to even make a loop im crying i feel like learning the piano for the first time with 13pints in me
reaper: pfft dont even know how to do a drum loop lmao fl noob get gud kid
me:
Oh shit gonna start coding my own plugins
Yo get at me in a DM if you need some pointers…
Soon done with my track. Kinda feeling I’d make another one and go in a totally different direction, will see. It’s the like the more I work on my low end the more unsure I get if it’s either too much or too weak.
Ffs.
I’ve not even got the bones of a beat yet
I did make a sub tone from a single sine cycle but I must have cut it weird coz it keeps popping randomly
us a low pass filter on it and bounce it repeatedly til the pop goes
or controversially a high pass too because it changes the phase but samuel way is better changes the phase as well but doesnt mess with low end too much
HPF ur subs lads
yeah 100hz is a good starting point
