Please help me! I am someone that loves music and dedicates almost all free time to it, but cant figure how to do the first growl in this little song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh0c7r24PJM

i can make the sound but not modulate it in Massive like that, maybe someone teach me how to modulate it to sound pitched/vocal and awesome :slight_smile: thanks

Sounds a lot like a KTN growl to me :smiley: well firstly KTN uses Massive and also Fm synths (Fm8 prheaps? I dont really know) if you have the sound in Massive I would recommend to use the EQ in your DAW to give it a sort of Vowel (there are presets for some vowels in Ableton) after that some distortion and maybe compression, he may even uses a Vocoder depending on the Source sound you start with also pitchbend the growl differently for different parts of the Song (sorry for my english I hope it helps) :slight_smile:

hi and thanks for answer ora! its Massive yes, to be honest i cant make the exact sound but the main problem is the modulation. I use fl studio 12, so i have to pitch a “wauwou” growl to get that effect? i already knew these techniques but maybe i am not doing it right ^^

I would try to use miore than one vowel like a, o and u and switch between them you get the “w” sound by Pitchbending

Yeah… They’re awesome but if you listen to them all in sequence, you realize it’s all the same patch. There are newer growls out now that sound dated.

It cant be the same patch listen to Syndicate and compare that growl to for example SMNS totaly different
