Tuna - The Legend Continues

ah fuck i forgot which one was it?
will make you stems :relieved: maybe after holidays or inbetween :slight_smile:

Thanks guys! Yeah this weeks is super rough around the edges. Pure groove box jam with no external processing other than a slight bit of two bus compression.

it was the one called nard 2

@cyclopian
very nice so far
maybe you got some tiny sharp spots in this first break but nothing major
haha i like this dunno the genre brazilian warehouse techno
maybe filter the hard bass/drum in the break like lowpass so it moves abit more could add i think
on the cheesy side shouts and like those brazilian football horns stuff :smile:
besides that i think its real nice whatever it is haha

@knobgoblin
not bad reminds me of lemmings for soem wierd reason haha
the bassline i think or sth
hm i think you could easily add some highend overall without harming the mix
hm hard to say its very wild i think for a game or sth it would really work like oldschool 8 bit game for sure
as this appeal
i like it for the vibe it has wouldnt change much
cymbals are nice add later
haha i have such a big lemmings vibe from this :smile:
have to pirate it again soon (10th copy i think)

@faultier
i agree with cyclops the snare has to be way more analog i think not so prominent
wouldnt say though its a bad idea not your best but def sth to build on tame this snare/clap
though
kick is maybe too prominent too
the sample i guess is like 60/70s? try to emulate the freq they had at that time and you are set

btw you guys are on skype/dropbox?
would be cool to move ideas around get some input etc(basically what we do here anyways)

first tuna of 2016 this weekend? who’s in?

def :3
i send you a message on soundcloud i guess could be my tuna too :slight_smile:

yeah i should have something as well, would you mind tagging me when the time comes to send stuff in?

I have the start of a hip hop beat I can bounce out.I’m pretty sure its kinda dodgy in the low end cos I did it on laptop speakers lol

who do i send the tuna to?

going out for tea in a second, will do full feed back tonight!

@BudSpencertron
Crone rmx - Really good use of space and stereo width, really like that detuney(AM?) synth line, Theres not much i can say about it to improve as usual when i listen to your stuff hah.

Tomorrow RMX, really sick techno style, i really like that bit where the kick repeats and everything side chains to it, Second drop is even more intense than the first, i dont really have much to add either on this.

@Jizz Emulation
Really intersting piece, The only thing id change, is maybe use a little more reverb ever now and then, and pan some elements accross the stereo field a bit becuase everything sounded pretty down the middle except for some of the quieter synths. but tbh it sounds cool how it is because of the low frequencies staying central.

@cyclopian Easy street
This bass is huge! really nice dubwise style thing without being bait and tired sounding. i love how raw everything sounds, almost techy, if i was to change anything, id litterally turn the sub down a tiny tiny bit so it isnt so dominant and the kick can come thru a little more, but idk.

@faultier Gs
Really nice sampling work! propper good beat, how did you make the bass line? it sounds like a real double bass but im not sure? id maybe turn the kick up slightly, i not sure wether its in the sample or not though haha. either way, top sampling work.

Its been really good to do this again and hear so much talent from one place. :gunfinger:

woii great start to 2016. Full feedback soon

@BudSpencertron crone remix is very nice. the individual elements are strong so i reckon you could even space out the mix, bring in soft lead first then slowly the bitcrusher moulds in, or some other arrangement. that snare that comes in halfway i feel is not completely necessary. only saying that cos the kicks with that delay is already a niice rhythm. then again, i have a tendency to get ambient (2 much jizzing)
actually, the snare works really nicely in the second half, i think its just in the first bit that it comes in a bit awkwardly
tomorrow remix is dark. snare is madd! dl’d

@cyclopian making it sound easy. letting the sounds breathe, chiller. nothing to say about this tbh. maybe mess around with the 2ndhalf melody a bit more. that distorted stab which comes in now and then is really nice

@Samuel_L_Damnson yesss, crisp drums. could definitely play around with the groove, as that pad comes in. simple, love it

@faultier late scorsese < early scorsese.

sorry, slackin on the feedback, will deffo do it before sunday tho

@Samuel_L_Damnson the bassline is just the original sample lowpassed with minor processing (btw giving credit where credit is due: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58NNz8kaC_o) valid point on the kicks, they are layered in, i’ll bump the volume a bit

@Jizz haha, are you implying i’m losing the plot? :corndance: needs more de niro, less di caprio?
