@hubb i reckon some technical stuff would completely change the vibe on this. like bringing out the piano a bit, sidechaining so that theres another rhythm jumping out in between the drums, bit of eq too. pad would definitely help too, something just as simple as that piano riff. the breakdown is actually real nice. i reckon the track picks up into something original toward the end, thats when it comes into its own
@BudSpencertron hlplss: this is reminding me of a lot of tracks i like all at once. rhythm is really nice, drums sounds are beautyy. i reckon if you make a few more tracks with similar sounds, you’d start hitting a unique vibe. all the ingredients for a whole style of music are there in this, youve heard joker’s stuff yeah? and Gemmy too, i hear bits of their music in this.
grm: woiiii this is mad. i’d say less reverb, let this stuff hit raw and this would actually be a stomper in a dance. mate, mental shit. lots of space in the mix too, nice to hear that. very different from hlplss

@Jizz feeling the overall vibes, can’t make out if the main bit repeating through out is a sample or some synth?
in any case, i like how it sounds but feel it should have more variations.
also not sure if on purpose but some drum hits sound slightly off…wait actually on second listen i’m wondering if this is even 4/4? what have you done?? idk
bottomline i really like the sound design and atmosphere but not too sure about the wonky arrangement (subjective obviously).
also i’d try to give that snare more character, maybe layer it with something else?
@hubb as Jizz mentioned already, finetuning the mixdown could really help on this one. aside from that i feel what you have now is already quite solid. i would add a few more incidentals like the ones you already have in there tho, like that high pitched bell-like sound that comes in at times and the afx-synth that you hint at. wish we’d hear more of that
depending on what you plan to do with the track, it actually could use another element, like maybe some other synth playing a counterpart to the arpeggio, then again if the track is meant to be rapped on, maybe not…
@BudSpencertron hlplss: maaaan, can’t really critique this, aside from saying you should send it to a label. maybe just go easier on the limiter 
, had turned the volume up a bit because hubb’s tuna was on the quieter side and its borderline unpleasantly harsh on my headphones
